My cousin Mike and I decided to brave the rain and cold for some blackmouth fishing in Elliott Bay. My cousin scored a nice keeper blackmouth.

Way to go Easy... If I was smart I would have headed to Manchester or EB. Dangerous and UMRules smacked a nice one yesterday in EB right off the day marker.

What did you nail 'em on?

Nothing but a bunch of shakers for me today...

MJ, one of these days I am going to get a VHF. For now, a cell phone works well. I was told you were trying to get a hold of me. Maybe next time. thumbs

Nice Fish Gentlemen!

We also smoked 'em with the Hooch off West Point this weekend.
Limits both days, biggest around 8lbs.

Also caught quite a few that just didnt make it.

I would say that the fishing was pretty hot, considering the normal pace for BM fishing.

After seeing all these great reports on Elliot Bay, I went out on Saturday afternoon and fished till dark. We just got shakers fishing in front of Salty's and down to Todd's. Tried to stay in 140-200' of water with one downrigger bouncing bottom. I did miss the 11:30 tied change, may have been the difference.

Jeffed,
What kind of boat were you fishing from, I might have seen you (I was in an open 16' aluminum). The last place I fished was right out front of Salties. I picked my keeper up the SW corner of the bay right around 3:00. It was definitely slower in the afternoon. Caught lots of shakers between 11:30 and 1:00, losing one that I thought was a keeper about 10 yards from the boat.

thanks for the reply littlefish, I have an old 23' Red & White Fiberform with a 200 Yamaha on the back with a 9.9 kicker. When you got your keeper did you go west of the boat launch? I never made it that far. If you got a keeper, you did well!

Now I've got to repair my trailer. When I was taking the boat back to where I store it, my axle started smoking. Was able to get to where it needs to go. I've never fixed bearings before. Hopefully, its not too bad.

I lost a fish I thought might have been a keeper earlier in the day right around Duwamish Head (West of launch). The one I took home came from the South end of the bay. I seem to recall seeing a boat that fits the descripion fishing in the same general area where I caught my keeper. Next time I see you I will say hello.

Repacking bearings on a car is pretty easy. I can't imagine a trailer being much different.
