Im am looking for someone that knows how to or knows of a place to get gel coat repaired!! any help please.If you know how to and are good at it I will take you on a drift trip or in the salt chuck for your time!!!!

Fishtale, what exactly do you need repairing?

Doug Ive got some scratches through the gel coat on my Seasport 24xl in the white and red that are not too deep and are not to big the biggest is 2.0 inches long in the white part of my hull.I keep it in good shape less the scratches.

Fishtale, I've got the same boat as you (a 1998).

I used Ollie's fiberglass repair when I had that problem. Not cheap but high quality work.

Where did you get your boat?

Slab Quest I bought mine at Island Marine on Lopez Island. Mine is a 94 do you have a TR-1 if you dont you need one!!I like being able to work the riggers and steer at the same time!!

Hey Slabquest: If you take this advise about a TR-1 I won't have to go in and out of the cabin so often to steer while you reel in fish. As for the fiberglass repairs, I am pretty well versed on the subject and have completed many minor and major repairs. The real question is whether or not you are good with tools and your hands. If so you should check out West Marine for simple GelCoat repair kits...this stuff can work well if you only have scratches. A polisher can be rented if you don't have one. Matching the color is the toughest part. Warm weather helps too if you can't put the boat indoors for the reapir.
