I want to fish on the Columbia for sturgeon since the Chehalis is blown out. Can someone help me with access on the Washington side w/ a 16' Lund? Where can I launch and fish. I've heard of Baker Bay. What's the best tides? And any helpful tips. I don't have much experience w/ sturgeon but not stupid either. Thanks!

I fish at Deep River a lot . You will find them in the deeper holes this time of year. But please keep your eyes open no matter where you are on the Columbia as the other rivers dumping into it are sending trees along with other things down the river. what

There is a small semi improved ramp about 8 miles upstream from the Astoria megler bridge. This is the site of an old abandoned cannary. You can launch here and fish just outside the last row of pilings or with no wind run down a few miles and fish along the WA shore. Also as stated before, launching at Eva's and fishing outside of deep river is a good option.

For fishing Baker Bay you should put in at Ilwaco or Chinook. Tricky getting out of Chinook. You can put in at Deep river and follow the channel markers out and fish down to Portugese Pt. or the flats anywhere in between (it can be tricky if you don't know where you are going with the channels shifting and the sand bars). The unimproved launch mentioned earlier is do-able with a boat like yours but you better have 4x4 and put in and take out around high water. For upstream, just put in at Cathlamet, where you can easily fish miles of river down towards Deep River.
