I broke down and bought a boat at last year's boat show. The boat was basically a shell and I've been setting it up over the last year or so. Now that its set for fishing I'm thinking of little details like seating. Does anyone have an opinion on who makes the best boat seats? I plan on adding two seat boxes and mounting swivel bases and seats on top of these. Thanks for any input.

little fish, i have a 17' boat and i am on my 3rd seating arrangement, i put in the back to back lounge seats, this set up works best so far, it gives you alot more room in the rear of the boat, for fighting fish and putting coolers and room for the trollers seat. the lay down feature is great, my old lady lays there and reads her book or takes a nap and kids can do the same. or for the slow days spring chinook fishing and sturgeon fishing, grab a pillow and its lights out. plus there is storage under the seats......

As far as _setup_ goes, it depends on your boat. I've got a jet-sled style 19ft boat, so it's one open area. I now run a swivel chair on either side up front, a large fish cooler with a padded top behind the captain's chair on the starboard side, and a bench seat (with a storage box below) behind the passenger's seat on the port side. The cooler and the bench seat run lengthwise, so the people sitting on them face each other, rather than facing forward. I'm eventually going to upgrade to better swivel seats, and I hope to put custom storage boxes under them, too... it's pretty much wasted space right now.
As far as who makes the _best_ seats, check out Bentley seats, they're nice, but they're not cheap!

I had a little 15' Larson some time ago. It started with the laydown seats. I ripped 'em out and put in a Single Fish On with the Pedestal or single Column mount. Left a ton of room for Crab Traps, Downriggers, Coolers and the occasional passenger.

I miss that little boat frown

Thanks for the input. I just got back from the Wooldridge shop with my new seat boxes.....and I'm thinking why add seats to my boat when I can just buy a whole new boat. I wish, maybe I'll pick up a lottery ticket.
