Sick of the Political debates?

Well I want to bring up something positive: EZ Steer is a company in Everett that manufactures the device to connect your main engine to your kicker so you can steer both without using the tiller...never mind river guys...I had a very good experience with them this week. My EZ Steer, which connects my two outboards, broke. I called them and encountered the most friendly customer service oriented lady I think I have ever dealt with, Kathy. She offered to have me bring the boat in to their shop in Everett and take care of my problem. This is so far much better service than I have ever received from the dealer who sold me the boat and EZ Steer.

I brought the boat in yesterday morning and was met at 7:30am by two guys who almost jumped to help. They first showed me how the dealer had installed the wrong model and that some parts were upside down and backwards. They replaced the whole assembly with the correct heavier duty model and sent me on my way in less than 1/2 hour. The guys were very helpful and seemed genuinely concerned that I went away happy. The bottom line is they charged me a whopping $20. That was for the upgrade to the heavier model only.

I think it is important to reward good service and excellent customer care so that is why I will continue to promote this company: EZ Steer, Everett, WA...Check their products out.

grandpa,

I too have had to deal with EZ Steer before, only for me it was a self induced problem. beathead I called up the company and talked to a really nice lady that had a good laugh at what I had done. laugh She proceded to get my info and sent the part I needed to Sportco where I picked it up and reinstalled the set up. Like you I cannot say enough about the service I got from them. beer

Grandpa:

Glad to hear you had a good experience with the company it would of made the originator of the product proud. Back in 85 I was the first and only employee of the company at age 16, I guess I should of stayed at the position with the product's popularity now.

I guess I'll jump on the EZ-Steer bandwagon too. I took my EZ-Steer off my old boat and installed on my new boat. Different size boat, different size motors and spaced apart differently. A couple years later, out on the water after launching in Everett, I break the bracket on one of the motors.

I finish fishing and plan to go out again the next day but I have no EZ-Steer. Without a phone call or appointment I stop by the EZ-Steer shop with the boat on my way home. When they looked at my boat they said this model wasn't designed for your setup. I said yeah I know I took it off my old boat but I need a new motor bracket. They said let's get you set up right. Since I hadn't come prepared to buy a whole new setup, I asked how much this would cost. He asked how much do you have? I looked in my wallet and said I have 17 bucks. The guy said I can't take all your money so how about $15? I said "what a deal, OK".

Now I know they can't do this for every bum like me with a sob story but it certainly shows their fantastic level of customer service. I hope they get a chance to see this and accept my thanks again.

WOW!!!
EZ-steer sounds like a step above even the Les Schwab employees who come running to you before you are stopped in their parking lot!

Nice to hear of excellent customer service. It will definitely bring more business. Now, if only more gas stations were today as they were in the fifties!

I also have to give credit where credit is due. The company where I bought my boat installed the unit improperly but, within 24hrs EZ Steer had sent someone to Tacoma to replace the unit as well as teach them how to install it properly! I look at the product and think a rheusses monkey could install it right.

It did look remarkably easy to install the EZ Steer correctly. Unfortunately some of the boat dealers are more concerned with the next sale than the new customer they have already "sold". Too bad they are such numbnutted blockheads and don't realize that a satisfied customer can be an annuity for years. It is like money in the bank to treat a customer like gold...it pays off in spades... hello

I think comapnies like EZ Steer deserve our support when we are treated the way they treat their customers. I intend to have them at a future meeting to show the crowd how their products can really work well. I love mine. The lady who usually answers the phone is Kathy. Kathy followed up with me like clockwork..right on the ball...Her product costs pennies compared to my boat and her service makes the boat dealer look like a crook.

Sounds like EZ steer has figured it out. Customer service is not a difficult concept. I have made a mental note. Their product has worked perfectly for me in the past.
