Going to take my 10' Porta boat out for her maiden voyage tomorrow, probably on Angle Lake. Hoping the weather holds. Any tips for the first time boater, and/or tips on actually catching something at this time of the year? laugh

What water are you getting her wet on?

Angle Lake is over by SeaTac Airport. Good small lake for the maiden voyage.

They planted 500 Triploids there recently so you have a chance. I would try Powerbait under a bobber for a while and then I would try fishing it 18" or so off the bottom.

Good luck!

I would try to troll a small flat fish long lined behind the boat on the surface.Does it have a motor? Try and make lots of turns.
ET- how do you set up for a float and power bait?

Fishslayer75 - a little split shot just in front of the treble to keep it down.

Get yourself a little piece of sinktip from the local flyshop and use a fly I call the green ugly. It's a green ugly fly tied with a red bead head. In my opinion, you need the option of getting below the surface. You'll kill the fish!...I promise. Fishingking.
