I just returned from vacation and finally sat down to read the new salmon trout steelheader magazine and a few pages into it I read an article about the Quilluete's netting trapped salmon due to low water flows and the sport fisherman protesting in their drift boats while the indians were netting around them. On behalf of the thousands of salmon that you and your "TROOPS" saved from certain slaughter,
THANK YOU!

We all appreciate your efforts! wink

Thanks for the note, and another thanks to all those who helped and especially to those media folk that looked beyond the tribal netting / racism issue and saw the plight of the fish.

Whatever the reason behind it, the final total closure certainly helped in allowing a good number of salmon to eventually make their weay to their spawning grounds, even if they ended up there a little late.

And a big thanks to Mother Nature for finally sending some rain in what appeared to be the very nick of time!

It appears that we had a very good coho spawn, king spawning was very good in the Hoh but probably a tad weak in the Quillyute system ... we'll work on seeing that few more of those big boys get a chance to return home down the road!

Add my thanks, I very rarely get over there but anything you can do save some salmon for the grand kids is great. I never will understand why they can't figure out that 50% of nothing is nothing.
