i am planning on going for some smelt this weekend and could use some info on where to go,i have smelted a lot in lake superior but not at all out here where might be a good spot to try i have no idea,i have heard of castle rock but don't know how to get there any help?also around what time to start dipping?in lake superior they would stay out in deep water until dark and would be good all night at times.and where can i buy a dipnet.thanks for any info

call BOB's sporting goods in longview, they can give u the latest info on where to fond them,i dipped 10days ago about 6miles north of longview on off the leeve just up river from the town of lexington.over and done in just a few dips.

There still getting them on the Lewis river in Woodland , Wa. ,lots of them.Try behing the texaco or under the bridge,or drive past the Texaco and watch for a hole in the concrete wall pull inside or park across the street,walk down the road go to the left and try to dip off the rock point,don't go past the tree that's at the point as there are some bad snags there and I saw a couple guys come out of there with there nets torn up.Good Luck !!
