don't mean to be a downer but I just got layed off from mfg manager position at an aerospace machine shop. Because of this I have three questions.
1) How is the cowlitz fishing? got a day or two to spend Not looking for work!
2) Anyone know of a similar position that might be open? Wife is geting a little crazy with me home all the time.
3) Does anyone need a car painted? Custom auto paint is my hobby that must now augment the checks from unemployment insurance.
Thanks in advance for any info you might be able to provide.(especially on good fishing opportunities)

I'm in the same industry but that position is currently filled at our company...by me. Send me a resume if you like. Maybe we can hook up for a weekend and make use of your fishing machine.

Wit45cal,

Just wondering if you know how to paint an exterior of a drift boat that is need of a repaint job.

Not for me but a friend is in need of one and is not to well off with $$ now. Rattle cans just won't cut it.

I think there is a special process you have to go through for aluminum but this would be new over old paint and the same color.

i'm sure I could do a driftboat! I know that my sled just has automotive paint on it but my paint store could set me up with any product that would be needed. I just finished a 55 chev hotrod truck so the garage is now empty and I sure wouldn't mind at least taking a look at it. Feel free to give your friend my email address or email me and I will give you my number. Thanks!

P.S. Its good to be back sparkey, been a very busy guy the last year with the whole earning a paycheck thing.

Hang in there wit--I was in the same position as you a year ago. The day after I was on the water with John Koenig and a buddy--It was truelly a good remedy for the depression was laffin my arse off. As well the visions of big nates in my and becoming a fish bum (more than I already am I guess). Driftboat was hooked camping gear was packed, food, and the phone rang. "Would you like your job back?" I was bummed again. Well ya know. So my trip was only a couple days.

Hang in there Wit. I got a pink slip back in October...the same day my wife took a pregnancy test that came back positive eek

What really sucked was the fact our fall fishing season was so lousy with no water in the rivers. As far as timing goes, you couldn't have picked a better time to go on "holiday," eh?

I started back at a new job in January...right as steelhead season was picking up. Try to enjoy some of the time off; things will work out.
