Is it possible to add lines like for the closed area out at Swiftsure so you can see how close you are. Same also goes for the Canadian- US border. help

Jerry, what you need to do is take the LL of the ends of the boundry line, save these as waypoints, then make a route out of the waypoints, this will leave a line on your chartplotter.
We sell alot of Garmin 162's to commercial fisherman in Bristol bay for this specific purpose. ADFG up there use these units (162's) to mark the boundries with, if a commercial fisherman is caught 5 ft. over the line they risk losing their boat.

Ya what King said.

I route all the protected Zones, Area Zone (like area 1,2,3....) boundries and the Canadian border. I then store them in my computer I put them in different folders so I know what folder to upload for what area I am going to be fishing.. I use digital charts to make all my routes on PC . When I know I am going to fish an area, say around the canadian border, I just upload all important waypoints and Routes. I love digital charts and the computer.

P.S. Dont go out and buy the brand name chart engines the dont work with alot of G.P.S. systems.
I would recommend using Ozi Explorer. It is by far the most universal Digital chart engine. It can upload/download routes and waypoint to almost all G.P.S. systems. Ozi Explorer
