"I tried to do a poll but couldn't figure it out, so maybe somebody that knows what they are doing could help me. I am taking this poll to get an idea of what fellow sportsman feel about the WDFW's proposal of a kill fishery on the Chehalis system. The WDFW is giving us an opportunity to have some input on what happens,( the decision will be rendered early next week or later today) I for one would like to take full advantage of that! We (They) have come up with 3 options and I am curious as what everyone thinks. Here are the options, please vote for one and maybe give a response as in why you voted for that option. KEEP the following details in mind when voting on the poll. (I couldn' type all this stuff in ea ?) . If your unfamiliar or uneducated about the topic I strongly urge you to read the two threads on this forum before casting you vote.

Option 1: Season: Mar 1-7
Predicted catch of 145 to 196 fish, leaving a buffer of 1201 fish. Both hatchery and wild steelhead retention regs in effect until daily limit is met.

Option 2: Season: Mar 24-31
Estimated catch: 166 to 223, leaving a buffer of 1074 fish. Wild and hatchery retention regs in effect

Option 3: Extend Wild Steelhead Release (WSR) season for 2 weeks to April 15 on the Wynoochee and Satsop and to April 30 on the Chehalis." Selective Gear Rules in effect. Hatchery fish may be kept as part of daily limit.

Ok we have had kill fishing for wild fish on all puget sound rivers in the past. Now how many of those rivers are open after feb 28? Answer = only 2. And it was looking like they might close also.
So the best policy regarding wild fish is MANDATORY RELEASE . It is not hard to figure that one out, Duh! Or just ask the people fishing the Skykomish, oh wait you cant its CLOSED!
You know 3rd and 4th grade kids can get this one, of course thier ego's arent bruised when you tell them they have to let that fish go to ensure that there will be fish for the future.
