My buddy just bought a new boat and we were wondering where we might find some fairly decent crappie or perch fishing this spring in western Washington.

We do well in Lake Washington for perch in the fall, but have not tried it at other times of the year?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

One of my favorite lakes for the south-end is lake sawyer. It has a little bit of everything in it. If you get tired of catching crappie or perch, you can troll for some trout or flip lures into the lilly pads for some nice bass. Also don't pass on lake sammamish perch fishing. Good luck to ya wherever you go. smile

Any suggestions on water depth to start looking for perch in Lake Sawyer in the Spring would be helpful.

Same for Lake Washington.

I find perch in Lake Washington along the weedbeds in the summer casting crappie jigs with an ultra light spinning outfit.

During the fall they really school up in 38-40 feet of water where my depth sounder will read huge clouds of perch from the bottom to near the surface. It is a great fishery for young and old.

I have never fished it in the spring so am looking for all the info I can get on local perch and crappie waters around Seattle or nearby.

Thanks for all the help, I look forward to more suggestions.
