Just got my driftboat trailer tab notice......wow! A four-fold increase. Was $9.00 a year ago and now $36. What the hell is going on here? Another example of the legislature getting back at Tim Eymen?

Anybody else experience an increase like this?

Went to re-up my DB tabs and had gone from $9.00 to $53. I asked the girl there what happened and she said it was passed last year on the last day of the legislature.

I would be interested to see if my Reps. voted for it.Kinda snuck it in on us.

Where could a guy find out?

I got the renewal for my tabs on my big boat $51.50. Then I got the tabs for my 12 foot inflatable I have on a small trailer $51.50 it was $13.50 LAST YEAR. Cant wait to get my camper tabs.

As long as we are willing to back The Thief on auto tabs for next to nothing, luxury things like boats and campers are gonna cost ya big time.

I got screwed by the $53 tabs as well. This is a outrage!!! George is getting upset!!!

Skydriftin let me guess you work for the Dept. of Transportation or a construction company that subs work from them. I work in Construction myself and do alot of schools every time I here of a school tax that they want passed I think of the last school I did and think how much $ was wasted on poor use of space just to make in fancy. Do kids get a better education in a big fancy school that could have had twice the class space if they were not so big on looks alone. The tax on my DB trailer went up over 500% when I checked to see which tax went up it was the one under ( other ) last year $6.25 this year $33.00. Now you tell me who the theif is. 500% in one year that's BULL**** !!

I sent an email to my state Reps a few months ago on this topic. They said that when they revamped the program, they put all tabs on the same system. It doesn't matter if you registering a BMW or a boat trailer...the state fees are the same. You will see some variation based on local taxes that are added on.

Time for a reality check. Voters have voted themselves some huge tax breaks in the last several years. When are people going to relieze you don't get something for nothing. Things cost money and when voters vote themselves huge tax breaks the legislature has to find the money somewhere. We all love fishing, and we are happy as clam when we are catching those hatery fish, but do we want to give the legislature the money to support them. I'm sure some of you will get your feathers ruffeled and declare your support for hatchery dollars. But the reality is hatchery dollars are at the bottom of the proirity list and schools, highways, and public safety is probably at the top. Put up or shut up.

Tim Eyeman is a horses behind and a theif. I can tell you this because he himself admits to keeping money he shouldn't have.

The $30 tab bill has cost me a bunch of money. None of the vehicles I own are new or even close to it....latest model is '93. My tabs have all increased so those of you with newer trucks, cars, and RV's can cruise at a reduced rate. And you expect sympathy because your boat trailer tabs went up? HA!

there must be some program that benefits college students, the elderly, single mothers on welfare that we can cut so those of us that make 70k + can enjoy $10 boat tabs

I cannot keep my mouth shut any longer,everyone that voted for the $30 dollar tabs does not drive a BMW or a $35 thou dollar pickup truck, and the real thieves are down there in olympia. the money that they feed in at the public trough is enough to make me sick. If you guys think you should pay more then by all means send in more money, but dont tell the rest of us that we are trying to get something for nothing, I pay far too much in taxes as it is, you are the guys that probably keep voting in Gary GRIDlock. If you have too much money then you must work for the state,or feds, more of my money WASTED..............Losers..........

What's up guys, lets get realistic, a boat trailer or a camper is a (luxury) item. They are not necessities, for your ability to earn a living, I know there are exceptions (guides etc.). The license tabs for my vehicles did not go down. I personaly don't have children in school, why should I have to pay to educate somebody elses? CAUSE IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO! I think there should be a 10 or 15% surcharge on all sports related gear and equipment that has any state money involved in the sport.
I think license and tag fees (fishing & hunting) should be doubled at least, and I think there should be at least a $.10 a gallon tax on gas with a rebate at yr's end when you document your to and from work gas from your frivolous driving.

If it's play, do the right thing, pay for it yourself, don't ask the single mothers and the seniors,etc., etc., to subsidize, your play.

Stand up, pay for your round!

If you can't afford to drag your driftboat or sled, from wherever to Forks, or from wherever to Blaine, don't go.

Quit *****in and start worrying about something important like does your neighbor have enough gas to get to work, or if he pays $150.00 for his car tabs, do his kids get oranges or apples with the hambuger helper or top Raman.

paying 70+for 2 boat trailers is still cheaper than 400 for my truck tabs i love it like it is.

When I started this thread, the money out of pocket wasn't the real issue..........$36.00 is not a bank breaker. I was just mystified by the sudden four-fold jump in the tabs.

When I payed up yesterday, I asked the Licensing gal what was up and she replied that that when I-695 passed a year or two ago, the legislature read that as to include all rigs/trailers requiring tabs. The variation in fees depends on region and county.

And for the record, I don't expect something for nothing and fully understand that it costs to play. What got me riled was the state's usual lack of communication. For example, before the initiative was voted on and the debate was raging, it seems to me this would have been relevant info. to share with the public. I just like being given the full story before I vote on something.

I just got the notice to, does licensing the boat go to 36$ also. it expires in june but was just wondering?
