Rich-

My brother in law has worked in the Forest service, stationed in Newport, for 5 years and fishes that area and all of EW heavily. Shoot me an email and I will get you in touch with him.

It was good meeting up with you again Richie. Good luck and I'm glad that things worked out. Keep in touch. Like last summer, I'll be in Forks in the middle of June. I'd love to have a companion. Think about it. Anyhow, still a cop? As far as fishing is concerned, the snake is a little less than 2 hours from where you are. There are so many steelies in that river it's disgusting. That should keep you happy for a while at least. Best of luck!

Rich,

I'm going to miss you're great steelhead pics. Hoping to see a few pics from you in the future of some hawg Kamloops and bruiser browns though.

I won't feel too bad for you though cause there is alot of great country out that way. Good luck and enjoy!

Hey Rich-
Don't know bout the trout.........but your only a couple hours away from some awesome steelheadin. Sept-Feb on the Clearwater and Grande Ronde are a blast. Maybe not the chromers that your used to but some of um are still plenty bright. Give me a holler some time and I would be glad to show you around.

Rich,

When I moved over there for law school several years ago, it was quite a shock to not have anadromous fish available.

I won't say I even came close to getting over it, but I did make do.

I'll hook you up with some great flyfishing spots, rivers and lakes...shoot me an e-mail when you have a chance.

Who ya' gonna be workin' for over there?

Fish on...

Todd.

Looks like you'd better take up turkey huntin'!

Actually, you'll find plenty of places to wet a line. Also, if you travel just a few miles, Montana is a stone's throw away! I'm not worried about you finding some nice fish!

Looks like Pat and I will have to hold the annual Sol Duc Springer Fest without you this year!

As I read this thread I wondered why you were moving over to Newport.

My thoughts were you'd joined a religious cult (of shorthaired white guys).

Congrats on the police job.

You can always try to be the local walleye and smallmouth bass expert.... and take up whitetail hunting.

Remember, backed up traffic over there will only be two cars ahead of you at the stop sign.

At first I though you were moving to Newport, Oregon. Lived in that area for 12 years and wish I still did - hard to make a living down there though. ODFW is doing better with their wild fish than we are - guess it helps to have no treaty indian fisheries and no nets. But a Newport on the dry side? Can't help ya much but wish you well - winter steelhead withdrawal is going to be a biatch, though frown

We're gonna miss our crab delivery man wink

Always be a cot for you to use if the inkling to get back this way overwhelms you!

Where are you gonna find someone like Quigley over there?

A few less sore-lipped fisheys for us hello

J/K, just remember, the beauty of the web is that you're just a few mouse clicks away!
