Good point. Our founding fathers went to war and shed blood so we could all think freely in this country. And I'm glad to see some folks are still thinking freely (even if they draw some illogical conclusions) and other folks are still prepared to protect those freedoms.

The ability to think freely comes with a price. Be preprared to defend it, or be prepared to lose it. Propoganda comes in many shapes and sizes. It takes a wise person to discern when to lead, follow, or break away from the crowd to do what they think is right. Simply challenging authority and doing things 'your way' does not make you a brilliant 'free thinker' - it takes discernment, conviction, and courage. You are passionate. (though usually misguided)

You are outspoken.

You HATE IT when anyone offers a viewpoint that differs from yours, and backs it up with facts and logic.

You love to bonk fish.

You love hatcheries.

You don't really think that there are any native fish left anywhere, so you say "let's just kill everything we catch. After all that's what the Tribes and commercials are gonna do."

You love to peek into board members profiles, and try use the information that you find to discredit the opinion of the poster that you dislike.

The list is ENDLESS!

Who the hell appointed you content monitor of this board? I thought Bob, Fishgal, ReiterRat, and Jerry Garcia handled those duties.

Maybe this isn't the proper forum to discuss the impending war, politics, religion etc. but that's SURELY not up to you to decide! I will say that you've got nads accusing anyone of "Furthering their agenda." You are probably more guilty of that than ANYONE else on the board!

Take a good hard look in the mirror my friend.

OK now, take your time and compose a scathing rebuttal to what I've posted. Be sure to dig up some more personal info that you can use as a reason why I have the opinions that I do.

Thanks for educating us on Chappy's posts. Some fine investigation work there! A little too indepth and of a personal natured attack but... He is right Chappy(I think), it's great that you feel stongly about such issues but you should try diversify you posting here to include more things related to why we are all on this b-board...otherwise it can act as a form of spam. I respect your opinions, feeling and insights though. I hope you don't "hate" your fellow American (because he doesn't happen to agree with your views, yes even some Republicans "Right-Wingers" care about people and the environment -they aren't monsters -I'm not one by the way but I'm willing to except their opinions) it tends to only lead to isolationism and extremism(for you and anyone else) -essentially a form of fundamentalism. Just chill and take it out on a punching bag and not somebody's -"body". (-we all need to learn that lesson sometimes) there are a lot worse "crooks" out-there for us all to be looking for. Many people are heated up these days for good reasons...it's perfectly understandible -just don't take it out on your neighbors! I'm done preachin'...

The central idea of a democracy is to gather and discuss as many ideas and viewpoints as possible. are you more likely to discover the truth about a subject if you have two ideas to choose from ? or two thousand viewpoints to choose from? Have I wrote about anything that has no relation to fishing? If this country bankrupts itself to finance wars does our fisheries not suffer from underfunding? do orcas and sea lions and damns and nets have nothing to do with fishing? do jigs not catch fish? I think the problem is that fishing attracts many of the more conservative pursuation as does this board and you want every post to look and sound just like yours? Well thought out commentary, yes -dialog is the key, unless possibly the other person(s) criminally violates you or are vey purposefully deceitful to you. -That's my thoughts...Up for debate I'm sure! Cowlitz is a definitely a good guy, he does much for steelhead and salmon fishing in his area.
