Still a fun week-end to come out to Forks!

Leave your rod at home and come out and experience a part of Forks culture!

Today and tomorrow is the annual Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction that is held all day long at the Bank of America here in Forks ...

You can listen to it live on the local radio stations (AM and FM) as well as the community channel on any cable system.

They auction off some pretty neat stuff (fishing trips too smile ), and you'll be amazed at the price that folks will shell out for some peanut brittle and apple pies!!

Raises about $70,000 for scholarships for graduating seniors each year!

Gonna have to run down and see what I've got to procure this year!! Fishgal's gotta work, so it's my turn to go shopping wink

Bob, how come I never hear of any trips offered by you at the auction, or am I just not paying attention?

Actually Josh I've had a trip auctioned off the past four years there ...

They typically go for about going rate for a trip. Seeing that food items always go for huge premiums (I'm not kidding about $100 pies!) ... we've got a load of smoked fish and some razors we'll be bringing down tomorrow that will likely bring as much if not more than a trip wink

That way I leave one more day open to make $$ that I can spend on Joe's metal work that he's donated ... the driftboat sculpture might have to come home with us hello
