the kit contains the power data cable and the bracket. you will need enough transducer extension to reach from your helm station to your stern station. When you want to move to the stern you unhook your power data cable from the back of the unit, disconnect the transducer cable fron the power data cable, connect the transducer cable to the transducer extension, go to the helm station and put your unit in the bracket and and hook up the power data cable. You will need to have a source of power for the unit neat the stern and I would try to keep the connections as dry as possible when not in use.
Harley, the dual frequency transducer allows you to have the best of both worlds, you have a frequency that allows you to see thing that are very deep and a frequency that allows you to see things that are not quit as deep but with a wider cone and very good resolution. the unit coordonates the 2 frequencies into one picture on your screen. The dual frequency is a must for salt water, in my opinion. I have a 160 blue and love it! The only difference between the 160 blue and 240 blue is the screen resolution. The 240 has a great picture and is very easy to read. the 160 is not quite as sharp, but works very well. I would have went with the 240 but the extra $100 was alittle more than I had at the time ( and I am no very patient when it comes to new toys) and the 160 has been more finder than I have ever had before.
