John Kruse sent me a link to a great site that has ideas on how we can show support for our troops. Regardless of whether you are in favor or not of the war, lets not forget our fellow citizens who have enlisted to protect our freedoms. Here's the link:

Operation Military Pride

Thanks! thumbs

I have to agree with Mike C. in that regardless of weather or not you agree with our being in Iraq, the troops still need our support. Recently, we just suffered our first casualties in the Iraq war. I think that everyone would do well to take a moment to think about the fact that those brave marines paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.... It's really a pretty heavy thing when you stop to think about it, and my prayers and thanks go out to the families of the service men who were killed in Iraq this week.

I found this cool new forum for people in the service to hook up with those stateside who want to send them books.

It seems to need lots more people wanting books, so spread the word to those active duty people you know in isolated places shipbound or stuck in traffic in a desert somewhere.

The easiest thing you could do would be to sign this thank you note, which has got to be the biggest ever.

Dear member of the U.S. military:
Thank you for defending our freedom.

Signed,

It would be so cool if everyone on this board took a few minutes, made a CARE package, and sent it off to our troops. I can't begin to imagine what they are going through out there. I know they are in all our thoughts but this is a way to tangibly show them we care. And it's not a pro or con war issue, it's a matter of showing that concern with action.
