Anybody out there have a Shimano Bantam Curado baitcaster. Thinking about getting one at 5:1. I'll be using it for bass and steelies. Just looking for some feedback before I take the plunge. Thanks.

I thumb a BSF201 Curado. Solid unit and smooth casting.

a lot of people have good things to say about the bantam curado...my brother uses one and it casts super smooth and the brake system adjustment allows throwing light baits easier than with most other baitcasters..personally i prefer a reel that holds a little more line but the curado will be fine for most applications

I use Curados, Chronarchs, and Calais and as far as the best reel for the $$, not doubt a Curado. I fish a 5:1 and absolutely love it!!

If you cast alot and catch fish, plan on two, mabey three steelhead seasons before a total rebuild is needed. Great reels for the price. Don't hook too many silvers on them though. The drags do burn up pretty fast. I recomend the 6.2:1.
