Just to let all of you know, the wholesale price of gas (what your local gas station pays for it's gas) is $1.37 right now. This is the lowest price for wholesale gas since January. Why are we still paying $2.00/gallon? Everyone should be outraged!

Heard on the news last night talk of a new gas tax also. Of course they have to put it on the ballots I believe.
Maybe it's time we start thinking of alternative means of boat propulsion...gas/electric hybrids (like the autos). Hmmm...

as long as all the gas prices are frequent with other gas stations i am alright with it. BUt i dont think we should boycott them. i mean you dont see anybody boycoting the movie theatre because popcorn is 7.50. sometimes you just have to deal with it. Just my .02

I'm sure I don't get out on the water as much as many of you. But a thought or two. What is the ratio of the amount of fuel one uses in the road vehicles to the amount used in the water vehicles?
I wish fuel prices would drop too, but I don't count on it, and, in fact, am planning for them to go higher.
I'm all for the advancement of alternative fuels/energy, but gas prices have not hit us hard enough yet to "spark" intensive demand. Compare our future vehicle (and other) technology to that of Japan! We are years behind them!
Hey, how about installing a hydrofoil fit on our boats? Faster, more efficient...
Rowing? Slow to get there, but just think how fit you'll be!! (ha, ha)...especially rowing that 27 footer around!
I can see the revival of the backyard stills if prices grow beyond $3/gal.
What are your thoughts?

After the station pays $1.37 then all the taxes are piled on. There's a bunch.

Saw premium in San Fran this weekend for $3 a gallon....no s**t.
Bought ten gallons in Willits, CA on Friday for $23!!
Things should start dropping here within the week. There is a historical lag time between crude prices and pump prices of about three weeks.
I sure get suspicious though when it starts getting that ridiculous, especially when the upward curve of retail prices peaks higher than than does the wholesale curve.

Gas prices are based upon supply and demand and at times not directly based upon the price of crude.
Because the direct suplply of gas to the West Coast is down and demand is up, we are seeing the highest prices in the country.
I drive more then most...Hell...I've put over 20k miles on my new truck since the 1st of August and I live in Everett and work in Bellevue and do alot of drving on my days off as well...it is costing me an average of another $20/week or so...its not too bad and I havent reduced my driving becuase of it.
