It's amazing to me how our elected officials can sit back and talk about all the good they're doing to protect salmon and steelhead, but propose legislation that will likely weaken the state's strongest tool for protecting salmon and steelhead. I guess it makes more sense to our legislatures to spend millions of dollars restoring habitat instead of 1/10th of that protecting it.
