Got down to the Ridgefield docks this morning at about 4:45 to get after some springers. We went down stream a ways to hook up to one of the wing dams below St. Helens. We were the first ones there to get our spot so we were pretty stoked. About 20 minutes later, the boats started arriving. One guy slow his boat down as to keep from rocking the other boats too much and this Arima comes from behind him on step and cuts the guy off of his spot in the hog line. Just a warm-up... About 1 hour later, I see this guy doing about 15 knots ABOVE the wing dam heading towards the hog line. He picks a spot between two boats and centers his yellow Welcraft on the wingdam briefly before passing through the boats and down stream. When I think I've met the dumbest person ever, he turns downstream and heads up stream about 30 feet from the bank and go over the wing dam AGAIN!!!! Einstein can't figure out why his boat is caught this time and wants someone to pull out of the hog line and pull him off. The guy next to us, being the good samaritan, pull in 4 rods goes around the dam and pulls this guy out. When he gets to the back side of the dam to get this guy, the bite turns on and the slot that was hot was our boat and the boat on the other side of him. He ended up leaving with nothing and we got two nice 15 lb. hatchery nooks. Entertaining to say the least...
