I just made a rack like that for my Truck but I want to add rod holders and redo the frame in Stainless,(The guy who weld my rack doesnt know how to or is not very good with Stainless Steel) and wondering if any one on here knows and has the equipment to weld Stainless? I will supply all the material and the cuts, just need the weld I will pay.

Nice, but expensive!
Anyways, for those people who transport their rods outside of the car via rod holders that stick upwards or whatever, do you ever worry a rock will fly right at your rod and shatter it?
I guess with fiberglass it's safer, but graphite, say goodbye. Has it ever happen to anyone before?

Why would you carry your rods outside like that any way? I could see if that mounted to hardtop on a boat, 350.00 isn't a bad price for that, i've seen rod holders that don't hold a cooler with 8 pole holders at a 2nd hand store that mounts on a hardtop for 900.00 and one for 700.00 not nearly as nice as this one

Not really to carry rods a long distance. Just from one hole to another. Kinda like the suction rod monts .

I like the deep basket, the one I have now is not as deep.

I figure I can make the basket for a lot less.
I plan on using 2" stainless Steel tubes rather then Aluminum, it is heavier but I can get all the Stainless I need for free. Just need the welder. I think I have one lined up.
