Thanks for the photo of the USS Carl Vinson and the great hat. And thanks for your service to the country. I'll frame that photo for the office wall. I only wish I was smart enough to post it here. Hope you see this as I really am grateful. I've got a seat on the boat for you anytime when you get home. thumbs

Downriggin, are you currently on the Chuckee Vee? I spent three years on her 1984-1987. Hope your cruise is going well. Thanks to you and everyone else doing their job these days.

UH OH!

I just heard on the news this morning that they may be extending deploymnent past this fall...may even last longer than the Lincoln's deployment.

Hopefully that aint true DR! There will be an excess of Salmon in the south end!

I read where you guys are currently laying over in Yokosuka...I misspent serious amounts of time there when I was a teenager...

Say hello to the haunch for me, wouldya?

Grandpa... More than welcome! Truly appreciate your untiring support!

Kyle... Second tour onboard CVIN. Anything to keep in me the Northwest. Been lucky to be stationed at home for the last 12 years.
What was your rate? I knew a few folks from "A" School went to the Chuckie.

Sky... I read the Bremerton Sun this morning and they had us out here until late fall. OUCH! Funny, we haven't been told a thing yet. A lot of speculation...

Stlhd.... The Haunch? Not what it used to be. Nonetheless, still lots of fun to be had. I have had a few 'stick dogs" the last couple days.

Hey DR,
I saw the newspaper article as well. I know about those mess decks rumors and how they get around, so hope this one isn't true. I am sure that you and Dangerous Dave have a serious case of Salmon Fever! Not to mention that DD might miss our annual Fly Fishing trip to Hi-Hium again. Hope you guys get in some Mahi Mahi fishing at your next stop, looks like you will be there for a few weeks. I did a lot of Mahi fishin when I was stationed there and it's good all year round, plus you can pick up an occassional marlin!

Take care guys !

Monster Rabbit fish spawn this time of year in the Guam reef shallows. You could probably throw flies to them.

Downriggin, I was a DP (Data Processing Technician) when they had such a rate. Now I guess they're ET's. Worked in the Supply Group, S-7 which was called SNAP (Shipboard Non Tactical Automated Data Processing). We did recordkeeping for all ship and aircraft maintenance and ordering of parts, as well as payroll. Hope you guys get home soon and safe. Thanks again.
