I just recieved this in my newsletter from Action for Animals (AFA) A national animal rights organization with very strong ties here in the NW.
My take is that they don't like the way fish are treated.

Better watch out fisherman, they are gonna really be targeting you in the near future.. Hope your ready!

Tell Evening Magazine: Fish Feel Pain Too!

KING 5's Evening Magazine recently did a great story on the Rolling Dog
Ranch animal sanctuary in Montana, for which they should be thanked. What
is shocking is the story that immediately followed in which the host of
the show ran through the streets of Seattle carrying a gutted, decapitated
fish, in a blatant promotion for Ivar's Restaurant. Fish suffer like any
other animal. Fish often experience decompression when caught. Their eyes
will pop out of their heads and their stomachs can be pushed out through
their mouth. Fish have developed nervous systems, like humans and other
land animals, and suffer when they are hooked or netted and forced to die
of suffocation when pulled from the water, a fact which was recently
backed up by a Royal Society study:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/907199.asp?cp1=1

Please write, call and email KING 5 to remind them that all animals
suffer. There is no excuse for carrying a fish through the streets to
promote Ivar's and it should be looked at no differently than if the host
were to gut and decapitate one of the animals from their previous story
and run through the streets with his or her body.

Other land animals? Like worms, or flies? How can anyone take these people seriously?

Unfortunantly they are masters at getting their point across and get taken seriously through lies and decietfull tatics.. as apparent in the I-713 campaign where our State AG imposed the maxium allowed under state law.

They have there sights on certain issues and someday a serious threat towards certain types of fishing may be in those sights.

I forget who said it but it goes something like this " the best way to win a battle is to know your enemy better than they know you"
