New to Eastern Wa, and looking to take my 11-year-old to catch his first catfish. I was told to go to the Snake...That's like telling someone to meet you in Vermont....howabout some more details please? I tried just below Granite Dam at Boyer park (I know, I would rather be watching paint dry than fish at a public boat launch...). No luck, but I didn't expect much anyway. Just looking for somewhere within an hour or two of Pullman, with decent chances of hooking up with some cats. Thanks... beer

walla walla river!!!!! At wahlula junctuion.
Therres a state park there but the fishing can be excellent! The usual baits all produce but I've had the best luck with fresh cut bait!
Remember if you get away from the usual spots(bust some brush) your chances improve immensly! Good luck! My biggest is 16#,but lost one that was bigger. Had a night last year where i hooked 6 fish ranging from 5lbs to 10 lbs.Not a bad night fishing!oh yeah those fish might still be there i released them all!
The walla walla river flows into the Columbia and the first few miles are very productive!
Right out on the Columbia there is a grain elavator and those fish will gorge them selves on grain dropped when loading the barges.they get alot bigger than 16lbs too.I've heard rumors of 28 -30 lbs fish. eek Good luck

Or right at the bottom of the grade into lower Granite, the Almota grain elevators off the wall. Throw on a chunk of fresh fish meat and hang on
