If you lived in Tacoma about halfway between the sky and the cowlitz (blue creek). Which way would you go on June 1? Never been to the sky but it doesn't sound like it gets the number of summer steel that the cowlitz gets. Both sound like you need your own rock to stand on (crowded). Just curious what people think.

Fished the Cowlitz from BC down on saturday and picked up 2 nice summer runs, saw alot of fish caught didn't here or see of any springers though, and I here that it will only get better from here. The Sky although not having the same numbers as the cowlitz gets a pretty strong run of summer steelhead so either way, you have a good chance of getting a nice fish for the BBQ. Are you going to bank it or from a boat? That also makes a big difference.

After looking at your homeport,why not the wynotchee?It may not get the numbers of your other choices but puts out some fish this time of year.I be glad to give some ideas where to start looking.

Go to battle at the combat cowlitz or a little more space at the sky. Depends on your personality and what you want to accomplish.

As far as the cowlitz. I fished bc in august durning the week and the crowds weren't terrible. But I suppose june and july are different stories. I don't particularly like combat fishing but I also like catching fish. It is a catch twenty two. I would like to drift the cowlitz from bc to mission bar once this summer but I am affraid to be run over by a super vee at mach 2.

Yea, you know why CraigO says to go to the Cow?...Cause we'll be on the Sky...the fewer the better...I have a feelin' there won't be too few though...

If your fishing the Sky on 6/1,stop by a local gravel pit and pick up a rock,you'll need it to stand on when your fishing.

Shawn; if you float the Sky from Sultan down in a DB on 6/1 you have a grater chance of getting run over than on the Cowitz.

Go to blue creek cause rieter doesn't open on the first of June. Blue creek doesn't open on the first either (already open), but may experience less presure with everyone going to other rivers that open on the first
