The nicest one these days is The Chehalis course by the airport. Newaukum Valley (sp) is a little closer to the Cowlitz. Old 99 right side heading south. Have fun.

Never understood walking around a pasture to beat a little ball with a stick until it falls in a glorified mole hole, especially when that time could be spent fishing! confused laugh smile

the easiest to find is the riverside course that is kinda behind kmart, Take exit 78 and head towards walmart turn left at the intersection and follow that road past kmart to the stopsign, go right until you run into the course.
Have fun and good luck fishing.

Yeah, it's much more reasonable to stand in the cold rain, casting to fish that won't bite, that you'll release anyway if you do catch one.

GOlf is the sport that has eaten into my fishing. Now I only get out fishing about 30 days a year. frown

Soooo... I eventually became a great fisherman... can't say the same for my golf game.. I was out the other day and my buddie says " dude, you have made some of the greatest shots I have ever seen"... Hows that I ask... " because you give yourself so many chances, ever wonder how good you might be if every shot you take did not have to go over a tree or from the next fairway ??"

My place is down between BC and barrier. Every year a couple of buddies and I will go down and fish in the morning, catch a few summer runs, than hit the newaulkum golf course. It has 27 holes, and is very reasonable. We always have a good time.

From BC, head up to hwy 12, go east to Marys corner and take a right. It is on the left about 5 miles down. Have fun beer

I called Newaukum and they have a special right now. After 2pm,all you can play for $12. Sounds pretty good to me.

Three Rivers CG in Kelso isn't that much farther than Riverside or Newaukem and I'd rate it a better track. Reasonable too.

Sorry HBP,

Just picked up on the fact your'e coming down from Ev. That would make Tree Rivers quite a bit further on. If you're into cheap (cheap is good), then Newaukem is the place. Riverside is a neat little track and I don't think it's that much more. If your'e looking for a higher end course check out twilight rates at either VicWood or Merriwood in Lacey (I think they may have changed the name to Links at Hawks Prarie). Both are very challenging, gourgeous and worth every penny.

I have golfed both places, I used to live in the houses on the newaukum course, so Im a little bias on that but throw away your three wood and grab one of those pocket fishermen poles, theres some big bass on the back nine and the east nine. laugh Dont get caught and throw back the wild ones. hello

That reminds me, didn't one of those courses used to have a bunch of monster muskrats on it. I remember having to chase them off the green to putt. I think it was Newaukem. That was a nice twist, and boy were they huge.
