Hi to you all,I just want to thank everyone that entered the derby yesterday.I think everyone their had a good time and a good dinner.I helped hand out $5,000 worth of prizes there.I was the one on the right of the stage pouting cus I didn't win anything but I did have a great time giveing them out.Best part was when we gave all the kids there a fishing pole and reel,Esp. to the little ones .I don't have the big winner's name yet but when I get all the info from Laverne if you want I'll post it.By the way the winning fish was 60" long and a little over 50#'s a real hog.Their was a bunch of really nice fish caught this yr.We'll be haveing another next year at least we'er planning on one, it sort of depends on what kind of season changes we'll face next year. Thanks again for being there hope to see ya all soon on the river.

We've put together a team the last 3 years and had a great time. This year was no different. Though we didn't land any hogs it's still a kick in the pants. The event is well organized with a clear agenda........makes it nice amidst all the chaos at weigh-in time.

Just curious, what do the proceeds go towards?

The money goes towards projects that help the fishery or schools or ???.We gave three thousand dollars to the Lower river enhancement group for project their working on the Washougal river,I believe its called the School house project,we've rebuilt the boat launch at Knapton for the tone of two thousand and now it needs it again a storm last year pretty much wiped out all we did.So now that we know what not to do we'll do it right this time.Money was donated to the Ilwaco school, money was given for a fishermans memorial at chinook and we donated some money for a war memorial at the port of camas this project is just beginning.
The money is used for a # of differant projects I can't remember them all right now.But rest assured it goes to a good cause or use.
thanks again for comeing .As far as the t-shirts go,I don't know how many if any we have left
yet for sure.I do know we will be giveing them away to new members at the Sportsman show in Portland next Feb.If you'll e-mail me in a few weeks(everybodys gone on Vacation) I'll try to find out if we're going to sell some.
