A bunch of the snap fasteners are broken off where my boat top connects to the windshield. Too much use in the salt and too little maintenance I guess. Mostly the snaps came apart on the fabric side and the fastener snap pulled apart and stayed attached to end attached to the boat.

Is there a way to repair the snap fasteners easilly? It doesn't look like it should be to hard to do.

Thanks,
WoodinvilleBill

Head down to your local Hardware store. I know McClendons has them. They have a kit with everything you need. You supply the hammer. Nothing to it just make sure everthing is square. Give it a good wack and your snap is secured on the canvas. On my new boat I lube them with a wax I got from boatersworld. It comes in a chapstick container. It will keep them from rusting and make it easier to take them off.

Troller,

I took your advice and now all my snaps work again. I wish I had known sooner how easy it and cheap it is.

Thanks,

What's the solution if your snap breaks off on the window side? The male side of one on my Glasply just corroded off. Also, the center part of the windshield that opens out to the bow is busted. One corner of the aluminum frame keeps coming apart. Any recommendation on a Seattle-area shop that does that kind of repair?
