I headed down to Blue Creek on the Cowlitz for the most recent Floatilla this last weekend. What a great trip! I got the boys up at 2:30am and got down to the ramp by 4:00am to meet up with our ride, DesertDog.

Ryan quickly claimed his spot.....


...and Hunter decided to get the skunk off of the boat with his first full grown steelhead ever!


The boys had a great time, and when we got home I asked them what their favorite part of the trip was. Hunter said he liked burning marshmallows in the fire, (we were making s'mores), and Ryan's was sleeping in a sleeping bag, in a tent, outside.

Ryan did bring in a nice rainbow of about 10" on the Scooby rod by himself, and actualy had more fish than anybody else on our boat, if you count smolts. He was fishing with a standard boondoggin' rig.

Take a kid fishing, you won't regret it. Gooose and DesertDog, thanks for your help with one of my son's firsts.
