I know that several of your are heading up there this weekend so I'll keep you updated until then....

Fished Neah Bay today... Halibut at canadian swiftsure was slow... one @30lbs. Salmon was decent. got a 28# king outside of tatoosh, and several smaller blackmouth, pinks, and one silver. I will be going back tomorrow (it sucks living up here during the summer wink ) As a follow up to the braided line thing.. I caught every fish that hit today from 130ft to 45. I use 30lb power pro, and a blacks release. I had really good luck with a glow green flasher and a glow watermelon coho killer. The big king tied it in a knot however... thank goodness for the modification that I learned at the salmon university class this year! That class was worth every penny!

Will post a report again tomorrow.

So the Canadian side is still slow-- where are the butts hiding? Any kings out at swiftsure? Hopefully the butts will cooperate the weekend of the 4th.

As much as I keep up on regs I would appreciate the word on US halibut....Is it closed again? I will be in Neah Bay on Saturday and really don't have a Canadian license. I've been waiting for the Canucks to fire up their new on line license system that Big Salmon adverstised a little too early. Any word on fishing 20 miles offshore?

US is closed for halibut I don't know if there will be a short opener around the 4th like last year. We did well out on Swiftsure last year, but sounds like this year is slower but that can change in a day. Grandpa, email me your cell#.

The Canadian halibut are way out in deep water - 450' - 500'. Four of us fished three days - limits in about 1-2 hours after a 3 hour ride each way. Two largest were 77 and 65, rest were in 30's to a couple in 40's. Jambo's charter boat got an 87 pounder. Swiftsure is very slow, so be prepared for an all dayer

Neah Bay Report 6/25

Limited 3 guys on kings. The biggest was a 26 lb'er, then 21, and 18. Still using a flasher and coho killer spoon. Caught numerous small kings, silvers, and humpies. troll around 50 ft deep, even thought yesterdays big fish was at 140. (I was working bait balls along bottom) Halibut was slow agan for me, but some people did well. It was VERY rough at canadian swiftsure but none of my friends got seasick..... that lowers my average to .750. Still plenty good enough to get in the hall of shame evil I'll be taking a few days off getting ready for Kings to open here in PA. Good luck.
