The Federal Trade Commission just made it illegal for telemarketers to call your home. All you have to do is enter your phone number in a database. Here's the story:

I don't know about you guys, but I get 2 or 3 calls every night. If I can file suit for $11,000 per call, I'll pay off my boat before Christmas!

In my opinion, nothing to write home about.
Exceptions include, charities, surveys and other calls without the expressed intent of selling you something.
How about a national Do Call list, for people who want telemarketing calls.
This would require an effort on the part of our lawmakers and a little common sense.

If only they could come up with a feasable way to ban spam.

too bad you cant just zap a person on the other line... like send out a little shock to the solicitor... too bad...

I have to admit tho, they kinda are fun to play with at times.

Surprise, surprise the other exemption is political calls.

What about cell phones? Yesterday I got a spam SMS on my phone!

We have had this type of thing here in Oregon for a few years now and it is great. Almost totally eliminated junk phone calls.
