On a lake....
How do you know how deep you are, how far out do you let your line out, how do you judge how much line you have let out? Have you ever "marked" your line with a magic marker and walked your line out on dry land to measure?

I recently purchased an Okuma reel and Shakespere rod for Sound Trolling.

Even got some hoochies from my last inquiry on this board, thanks guys
Also got a couple of flashers and a deep diver trolling "blade" and 3-5 oz banana weights.

So again the same types of questions.

How much weight and other pertinent gotta do's.

I have a 5hp 4stroke Briggs and a 14ft Zodiac to troll with. Found a really nice place to set in at close to the mouth of the Nisqually to run salt.

Thanks In Advance

Paul

Hey TJ,

head over to Sportco in Fife(it's the coolest toy store), and pick up a downrigger.
You'll be able to put your lures right in the fishes faces, and increase your catch rate signifigantly. It eliminates all of the thinking(guessing) about your depth.
