I live in Olympia and am trying to find a salt water bank spot. Has anyone tried Luhr beach on McAlister creek? I have fished Mcalister creek and the Nisqually for kings in late august, but the fish are dark and I just release them. Plus during the run its usually a zoo. It would be nice to catch a table worthy salmon without going to westport.

If Luhr Beach is the one I think it is (Olympia side of Nisqually delta), bring your plywood - very muddy beach and for heavy guys like myself - it's tough going.

i heard the chambers creek estuary a few miles north is pretty good fishing for kings. i think theres bank access, i might try it this year. i can't think of many other king spots in the south sound off the top of my head, but when the chums come in pretty much anywhere theres a creek that runs into the salt there will be fish
