Don't bother, it's a very long ride, no fish there, the waters rough and the natives unfriendly......NOT!

What a gem of a spot! We were there earllier this week and the chinook were still well out in the ocean and feeding, but when the weather permitted and we could get out (gale warnings every day), it was non-stop action. Doubles on 25 pounders was not unusual. Did not get the big one, but lost a real toad that ate a 24 ounce Mudraker jig 300 feet down on its way to visit a halibut!

Plenty of coho and pinks on the inside when it was blowing a gale on the outside, and unlimited halibut and bottom fishing. We even caught a 50 pound hali on a Coyote spoon while trolling 25 feet down for coho.

Thanks to the Salmonuniversity.com folks for the info on this one. It is indeed a very long trip (15 hours from the dock at Winter Harbor to Seattle) but well worth the trip for those seeking great fishing in an uncrowded setting.

Thanks for the report. I have never been up there and rarely salt fish but I'll get my first shot next Tues. for a few days.

How far out did you have to run for the kings? How big of a boat were you guys in, I think I'll be in a 24ft.

Thanks again for the info I am looking forward to it.
