I may take a few friends out for salmon during the middle of next week. What charter company can anyone recommend for great service and a great crew??

Any info is appreciated.

I am sure that you will get many recommendations by folks saying one boat is the best. I think for the most part they are all pretty good. That said......

I'd go with Capt. Chuck Custer on the Freedom (http://westportcharters.com/ ) without a doubt. I do 2 trips a year out of Westport and ALWAYS go on the Freedom, it is without a doubt the best boat, Captain and Deck Hands out there!! (IMHO)

I am sure you'll have a great time no matter who you go with (Freedom!).

Let us all know who you go with and how your experience was>

good luck,
UM

I always go with Ocean Charters, they are by far the best boats on the water in Westport. Lucky Pierre and the Northern Star will always fill your punch cards. Just got back from a trip out , like always, everybody broght home fish. I was the only one with 2 kings but most folks had one along with silvers and a few pinks that got in the way. Have fun.

I also went down to Ilwaco for the bouy 10 opener but it dead for kings. Filled the card with 2 nice silvers and had fun filling the chummers cards as well. Bouy 10 should pick up in a couple of weeks.

Just got back from a trip last tuesday with Ocean Charters. Had an outstanding time aboard the "Primetime." The skipper's name was Bill. Excellent time on a great boat (6 people). I love the smaller boats. The bigger boats (15-25 people) are like fishing at Blue Creek in the ocean. Not my cup of tea...Give em' a call.

fp, one of them went to one of the folks that changed more colors than a mood ring. Hope they enjoy it on the bbq with some friends.
