I hope lifejackets were being worn.

A fisherman family's worst nightmare. Our prayers go out that he will be found and returned to them safely.

I was up there yesterday in a 23 foot Bayliner.
I am here though and my Bayliner is in the driveway.

There was a persistant fog bank up there all day long. Just off-shore about 1/2 mile. Looked like a white wall.

to borrow a quote from the old tv show hill street blues
"Be careful out there"
I know it is a pain in the behind but when fishing alone, as I do alot, I always take the kicker out of gear when fighting or landing a fish. If I am setting my riggers or doing other things where there is a chance of taking a swim and it is possible I attach the emeregency engine stop to myself. Of course WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET!! Get one of the auto inflate ones or use a float coat if it is cold and you will never even know you have it on.

Baddawg your right I went and bought two Sterns inflatables last night at GI joes and they Seem to be pretty comfortable. Now I will have to get in the habit of wearing it all the time. My wife had been bugging me about fishing alone without a PFD on.
