Fished Tulalip all weekend. Friday morning was the best I've seen all summer - more than once I saw more than one boat with a fish on at the same time. And the bit lasted from 6:30 until 10. I boated the 12 lber below (and did the sportsman-like thing and released another nice fish on the two feet of my own downrigger cable still dangling in the water).

Fished Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning and it was back to its usual frustrating self... one or two fish per 100 boats! On Sunday, my 8 yr. old son had a nice fish on for a few minutes (would have been his first king) but it got off on the surface about 30 feet from the boat.

Sounds like Elliott Bay was the place to be this weekend!

Sorry, tdickensen, it's my fault. I bought my banana boat up there and scared all the fish away on Saturday. I'll stay away for the next couple weekends. I'm sure the fishing will improve.

Seriously - I'm soooo frustrated with Puget Sound fishing! Here's the way I see it: For a typical day of fishing, I leave the house at 5:00am and return at 5:00pm. So, what's the best way to spend 12 hours?

I see 2 options:
1. I can take a short drive to Everett and get skunked for 10 hours, returning home to a take-out Chinese dinner.
2. I can drive to Westport, get my limit in a couple hours and have fresh salmon for dinner.

That's an easy choice for me. Westport, here I come.
