Since I usually fly fish, I don't know much about this saltwater trolling scene.

But I have this older Lamiglas steelhead rod with a nice medium to slow action that I would like to use for trolling for pinks, silvers and the like.

I have some trolling weights and spoons, but I have not gotten any flashers/dodgers or divers for this rig. I guess I could get the smaller sizes. I am not really into getting another rod/reel as I am just playing around right now.

But I was wondering, could I use this stuff to get into fish, and what would you guys recommend?

Sure, for the humpies we just throw jigs at them. Corkies and yarn are a hot setup for them. Coho? Troll the fly on top of the water, or use a diver. Some guys just use a heavy weight to get the line down a ways. I used to use deep six divers before I got downriggers, they work fine. Just be sure to have a fairly accurate way of counting your line to know how much you have out. I bought some clip on line counters from Cabela's that work great! I see them now at Wal Mart.

Get out there and get em!!
