Over the past few years, I've watched this forum take a turn for the worse. There are still some good threads, but mostly this just seems like a place for people to ***** and moan. Topics aren't debated here, that would be too civil. Let's just call each other assholes if we disagree, because if we really wanted to debate a topic we'd have to put too much thought into it.

Yeah Twig, that's pretty much why it exists!!! Maybe not why it was conceived but it seems that a lot of arrogant folks want to push their agenda on a public forum and this one is an easy target!

I try not to even read let alone post on threads of these type. For me it is all about the fishing! About 25% of the information on here is useful to me, the rest I could care less. I am all for saving the fish and the environment, but not for bashing others whose opinions my vary.

Take it all with a grain of salt. Some guys will take that grain of salt and rub it in your eye!

Try starting a good thread instead of p'ing and moaning about p'ing and moaning. But I do know what you mean. I am fully prepared, and almost expect, to be bashed every time I post anything.
Watch this....I say it's going to be cloudy tomorrow...now there's a 50/50 chance someone is going to post that I don't know what I am talking about. That's the way the net is though. Either you moderate to the extreme or you allow a certain amount of freedom which can and will bring out the A holes. Sometimes I think everyone is an A hole except me though.

The net allows all those who were bullied all there lives to finally be the bully. Thats why there are way more tough guys here than in real life. Anyone can appear to be a great outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, etc..., say anything they want to anybody, while hiding behind their computer screen in the safety of their own home. Its as phony as wrestling on tv. My only question is why did it take you so long to figure this out????

I think its that occasional thread that makes you think of a technique "that you forgot" or the reports that energize you to fishing the your spot again even though you got skunked your last trip that makes us come back, besides that fact that we're hopelessly addicted to fishing.....

Seriously, though, if boards that moderate lightly in order to keep the conversation energetic bother you, there ARE boards that are moderated a little more heavy-handedly. There are trade-offs for everything.

The bottom line is that over-moderation is the death knell for free discussion....there are plenty of buddy, buddy, gladhander type websites where disagreement, even respectful disagreement, within a thread is openly discouraged............

Besides to those of us with exciting lives some of the posts lately are really boring as hell. Informative, non-argumentative posts garner about 4 or 5 responses. Lively pissing and moaning can go on for pages... Maybe more lurkers read the boring stuff and don't respond..I don't know.

In theory that's a good idea. In practice, it requires even more moderation in order to enforce the "no general discussion" gag order in the fishing only forums.

Nice job, just what twiggy wanted another bureaucracy created by "bob" to further divide and cause internal disputes about (fishing?). this will eventually cost "bob" a little more dough but that will be ok. He can just increase his revenue somehow, I know he can put a little surcharge on the new site...............................before long Piscatorial Pursuits can be just like California, KRAZY!!

New to the forum , have a couple AND JUST FISH (must be the other 90%) b****en!!

I think people need to spend a little less time in front of their 'puters and a little more time on the water.

This board exists so that I can go fishing, post an innocent report, then have someone take something either out of context or ASSUME that I was somehow breaking the law and create some massive trainwreck of a post for all to be entertained by. I just wanted to say THANKS!
