Bug-flicker,

Actually from Portland you might be looking more like 6-7 hours. It going to take longer because of the roads not the distance.

From Hood Canal Floating Bridge to Sekiu it is @120 miles but takes almost 3 hours. From Portland to Poulsbo it is almost 200 mi and takes almost 4 hours. Easiest route would be to drive I-5 up to Tacoma, take Hwy 16, cross narrows and head up past poulsbo to HCFB. Follow signs to PA, but once past PA DO NOT follow signs to Sekiu but continue towards Forks and take the turn off to Clallum Bay. Sekiu is just past CB.

Another Way is to turn off at Olympia and head towards Shelton. Just before you get to Shelton you'll want to continue on 101 north along the west shore of Hood Canal past Quilcene towards PA. Or instead of heading for Shelton continue west on to Aberdeen and head north past Forks to the turn off to Clallum Bay. Not sure if either of these are shorter in distance but due to the roads I'd say they would be longer in duration.

Anyway you go, it's a long trip, but I'm sure it would be worth it. I believe the 4 fish limit may be extended for another couple of weeks and the silvers have yet to show in full force. The humpies are still thick up there. Who knows how long that will last.

Actually, you may be better off driving up the coast side of 101 - I live in Elma and it's a half-hour quicker for me to go through Aberdeen and Forks than it is through PA, because the roads are straighter and the traffic is lighter. Basically from I-5 take the Rochester exit (88) to highway 12, follow that to Elma and then to Aberdeen and head north on 101. Early morning and no traffic you can make the trip from Portland in less than 6 hours. laugh
