Went again to Westport on Sunday and Monday and it was very rough, made the mistake of getting a late start and crossed the bar at near max ebb. Had the boat almost straight up twice, no turning around in that stuff. Well we made it safely and started fishing, it was kinda scratch fishing, lots of blackmouth with the largest in the teens, but did manage to scrape out a 37 pounder. We did catch a few nice silvers though. Limits were there to be had.....even if it did take all day to get some nice ones.

It's funny how the water never looks as rough in pictures at it actually is...

My friend fishinnut was out there at the same time. It was too rough for them to fish effectively in their 21' boat. Also, they got swamped over the transom.

We crossed the bar about 11am and the coasties were there turning back boats under 30'. we were in a 32'. It was rough. We were told Sunday was alot sloppier. We were out there fishing when the little boats came by looking pretty much like porpises shooting across the top of the waves.

I lost a hatchery silver that was every bit as big as the one in your picture and maybe bigger. It was huge. I didn't cry. The biggest silver I've caught out there is a 19lb. buck. It was hooked nose and full of color. I didn't think they turned color till they hit the river.

No [Bleeeeep!] it was rough...went out on a full charter, TequilaToo. Limited on Rockfish, nada on the salmon

We were in a 55ft vessel, and I cant beleive some of the smaller craft that were really bouncin.

Fishin with 25 other anglers and rough seas ain't much fun.....not too many clusters fortunately
