It is illegal to attempt to take a fish in anyway that the fish does not willingly take the hooks into it's mouth!!!

Whatever the plans to do with them the fish must have the intention of taking the hooks into it's mouth.. Anything else is illegal and unethical.

Iron.. i don't believe anyone said that everyone using corkies is a snagger. I doubt there is a member of this board who has never caught a fish on a corkie.. However in the case of the lower columbia tributaries it's not a minority that is using them for snagging it is the very very very VAST Majority!!! 90+% of fall salmon fishing in the Washougal, Lewis and Kalama is snagging done with the above mentioned corkie set up..

Also i don't believe creating a fly only area of any river eliminated snagging. There is a lot of snagging that occurs for coho in the lower fly only area of the Kalama.

Don't mind me....I'm just wound a little tight due to a deficiency in fishing trips.

You are right though, it's not the gear that makes a snagger. It's the technique, or lack thereof, that makes a snagger.

Well like I said last year it really pisses me off when Im fishing a 6 foot leader and I have to dig my corkies out of the interior gills because the dang fish has smalled my sh#t!!!PEACE

I think this post started saying fish coming in backwords were bonked. Doesn't matter what the heck they hooked the fish in the motor with, they kept an illegal fish. Plain and simple.

I remember Jesky setting up a camera on the fence down by the tilton river and busting a bunch of snaggers a couple years back. Someone should video tape them snagging and send the tape to the gamies. They have no problem sending traffic tickets in the mail why can't they send a snagging ticket?
