I went out this morning to West Point (then Meadow Point) and was skunked for the first time in a while. I saw a few boats with fish at West Point early on but then didn't see much and the fish checker at Shilshole said it had been slow when I came in at noon.

What happened? There were a lot of boats out. Any successful stories and/or tips would be appreciated!

Partner and I went out yesterday between 8-11AM. Bait pole got 1 strike. Squid/flasher got 5 strikes. Kept 2 to 10#. Fish were shallow. Most hitting at 20' going 2.5kph.

Seemed kind of slow most of the time at Meadow Point. But I had one flurry of activity a little after 8 am. Hooked three and but only landed one ~5lbs . All in about 20 min. That was it except for the 6-12 inchers I couldn't keep off the hook.

I got out late, around 9:30, and fished from meadow point over to west point. Had some kicker problems, so we jigged for a while instead of trolling. All in all we got three 12 inch shakers and a dead duck. I don't think we missed out on much though - I only saw one fish caught all day.

My wife had to pick up the kids at 3, so we dropped her off and went back out for one last try. Finally got an 8 pounder at 3:30. The magic number on the rigger was 86, trolling just west of the green can at meadow point. The same rig caught this fish as the last seven on the boat - a green glow spatter metal flasher with a grandslam bucktail (blue with green beads so the hooks trailed) about 32 inches back.

Hundreds of boats, and I saw two fish caught. Where did they all go???

Same experience for me. Hit Duwamish Head followed by 4 mile and West Point on Sat. C&Red a small king, lots of shakers, nothing interesting. It was SLOW!!! First time w/o a nice silver in weeks.

While fishing in the E derby Saturday, we fished West point, 4 mile, and some other spots wink , only picked up 1 fish for the mornings work. Ended up running to Edmonds and fished deep in the shipping lanes for limits.

All fish I saw caught all weekend came from out in the lanes, but maybe thats because that's the only place I fished! cool

Fished both the green and yellow cans Sat. Got two fish between 10 and noon. One 4 lbs and an 8. Both fish were caught at 90 feet on a green glow flasher with green&white hootchie w/ herring strip. We had a couple more hook-ups after that but no nets. Also c&rd a good sized Humpie.

Not a bad day but not as good as last Saturday.

Better luck this morning. A buddy and I went out around 6:30 and had three in the boat by 7:30. All not far out from Meadow Point in a slight rip at 30-40' on flasher and squid. The last one came in around 8:45 over close to Carkeek. None were over 6 lbs.

Two buddies and I fished it Saturday morning using inline weights, flashers and hootchies. We launched at Shilshole at 7 am, and had the first strike shortly after we got near West Point. We missed the fish, but hooked up and landed a 3-4 pounder a half hour later. Most of the action was off by 10, but got another strike on a green commercial spoon near the buoy at 10:30, and then we lost a another right at the boat at 11:00.

The real bummer of the morning was when one of the guys dropped his rod and brand-new reel in, and we watched it sink out of sight. frown

I kinda thought it was a good day of fishing, but a bad day of catching.
