Hey All...

I'm being dragged down to the Oregon Coast - Lincoln City to be exact. Is anyone able to point me toward some good fishing in that area? Any nice rivers nearby? I'm hoping to throw some waders on and sneak away early in the morning at one point. Shhhhh...don't tell.

Also, if you know what's being used to catch em down there, let me know!

regards
james

I know a couple of friends that caught a king or two in the tidewater of the Siletz. I suggest you try somewhere around there.

Zip over to Ifish.net and ask in the forums there. Most everyone in that forum in from the coast and I-5 corridor on that site, they could help you out better.

On the north end of Lincoln city you have the Salmon river , right now it is a bobber fishing show for chinook in tide water some good bank fishing right off of H.W.101 but it is crowded. On the south end of town you have the Siletz river and this is my home water.Starting off at Kernvile wich is right on H.w.101 you have a boat fisherie for chinook trolling plug cts ,or hard ware or bobber fishing acouple of miles up H.w.229 wich paralels the Siletz for 24miles up to the town of Siletz. The first 15 miles are tide water and not much bank access. Bank access starts at Cedar creek at about the 18 mile marker. The river like every other river around is low and clear but with a little work their is some great steelie and Sea Run cutt fishing ,need rain before we get any decent salmon in the upper river.I would not feel bad at all about being draged to lincoln cty their is some kick ass fishing with in 20 miles of town.

From what I've been told, mostly dark chinook at cedar creek. If it was me I'd head up to the locked gate above moonshine and fish down towards the camp site. I have a reliable report of 200+ steelies holding below the old boat slide. 6lb leader, bb shot and a crawdad tail. good luck.
