I was there last weekend and fish were rolling and jumping. We didn't do any good, and we heard that few were caught, but that a fresh run had come in. If you haven't run this river before, be careful with a prop. It is very shallow in lot's of spots, and there are many logs just under the surface. I've run it for many years with either a drift boat or a sled, and even I ended up sliding my sled across a gravel bar because a channel had shifted since I last ran it a year ago. Be careful!

I put in at the forks (about a mile below the I-5 bridge) and ran up to just below the hatchery. It gets very shallow abut half way between the rail road bridge and the mouth. Going up from the I-5 bridge, it gets very shallow in a number of spots, with many logs and stumps just below the surface. Above I-5, there are very few places you can run a boat with a prop.

Last time I was at the Lewis, it was shallow enough that you could have trolled it in your truck. Be careful.
