I have never been on the Snohomish before, and was wondering if you could run a long shaft on it. I have a 16ft. Duraboat and was wondering if so?I will be cross referencing any places you tell me with my maps. Thanks!

Duke boy Yes you can run a prop on the Snohomish, if you launch @ Snohomish and head up stream it starts to get shallow on the left side as you go under the railroad tressel. Watch for the tides the river is affected several miles upstream from that point. I wouldn't go much past the Pilchuck river, unless you know the river really well. Going down stream from Snohomish there are also some areas that can get pretty skinny at low tide, look for stumps and such to guide you along, keep and eye on the depth finder if you have one.

I have a 18' Tracker deep V hull, and a 20' Smoker Craft both with prop engines. I take them both all over the Snohomish and a lot of the Snoqualmie. You have to keep an eye out for shallow bars but you can make it around easily. It does help if you have power trim on the engine because when the water is low you can raise the engine a little and still make it through the shallower areas. Most of he shallow areas are on one side of the river and you can go around them on the other side. I can't think of any area off the top of my head that I can't make it up.
