I am feeling a little burned out on fishing lately. Caught a few silvers and chinook this summer/fall. Enough to stack up on enough eggs to last us for a year. Took my dad out to fish in my new boat, the weekend before last, and caught a few bottom fish and some crab. Couldn't get the spawners to bite but they were jumping all over the canal. Been raining lately so I've been winterizing the boat and organizing my fishing and boating stuff. Also been watching more football, sports, and starting to get back to checking the boards.

This rain should move the rest of the summer steelhead, chinook, and silvers up the rivers and creeks. What's left is mostly dark. I'm not that much into salmon fishing I guess but they are fun to catch and provide bait for steelheading. I'm not into hunting either.

I'm hoping this rain will bring in some fresh winter steelhead. I'm all pshyched up for winter fishing middle of November.

Anybody else burned out on salmon fishing and getting pumped for winter steelheading?

Heck Yeah! I am also just ready for winter. Gives me a chance to get all the gear cleaned and in order. Also means Blackmouth will be opening up soon all over.

I am ready for winter also my boat has been sitting high and dry for all but a few trips this summer. time for our rivers to get some water and some fresh steel.. This is actually the first year in about 15 years I have put up any eggs. maybe they will cause the demise of some chambers creek fish:)

Looks like we'll actually have some water in the rivers this year. Weather reports I've seen say we'll have a lot more rain and possibly snow in the lowlands as early as the end of November.

I updated my steelhead arsenal last weekend. Lubed up the reels, loaded them with 10 pound mono, organized the vest etc. There's nothing like seeing that first flash of winter metalhead under your submerged float in early November. I too am getting a little "salmoned out."
