Just a heads up on the log jam below O'Grady's. Someone cut part of the upper logs so you can get by. Thats great but once you get around the nexts bend( not visible from up above) the river is unrunnable. At the current flow its possible to pull your boat over and around logs to get through ( not very much fun if your alone). If the river gets above 750cfs this will be tricky, if it gets above 850cfs and you take this route your screwed. The left and middle forks lead to the log jam. The right fork is the best bet. Its small and will require some dragging but thats better than loosing your boat.

From the last high water/wind storm there is new wood jammed up. I also would'nt go right in low water , but in higher water ( 750cfs and above) its would be the preferred route.

Can you tell me where EXACTLY is the log jam you are talking about? It sounds like it is below O'Grady and not the new branch of river that cuts thru the trees about 100 yds below Metzler and comes out at O'Gradys. Is that true? Is it below that branch and down past or near the houses on the right? Thx
PS - I hike down the branch I described this past summer and that log jam is starting to look like the log jam below the car body hole.

After the channel from the Mezker split reenters the river on the right there will be a slight bend to the left and a long flat section. At the end of this you will see the river split three ways. If you want there is a spot to pull over kind of center to check thing out before you commit to anything. If you pay attention there is still one warning sign on the right just before there, the rest of the warning signs washed out with the last high water. If you walk down the right side of the middle fork you should get a fair veiw of the lower jam.

Wandered up there today to check it out. That area is always plagued with excess lumber but, this new channel and jam takes the cake!! eek
I'm concerned when the flows get up to the usual winter levels and all the boats return to the river this will become a real issue!

Heed the warning fellas!

Well how was the fishing up there? Wait I know that might be a trick question. I answer that one sometimes, "Fishing was great, but the catching stunk" heh heh
